Turkey October 2019: Volkswagen (+236.2%) takes charge in market up 127.5% but still down -46.5% on Oct 2017

The VW T-Roc is estimated to break into the Turkish Top 25 for the first time.

New light vehicle sales in Turkey confirm they are on the mend with volumes up for the second straight month and only the 2nd time in the past 19 months in October at a spectacular +127.5% year-on-year to 49.075 units, yet they remain down -46.5% on October 2017. Year-to-date sales are now down -31.9% to 330.284. Volkswagen (+236.2%) almost doubles the market growth and gains two spots on September to snap the brands pole position with 13.1% share vs. 10.7% so far in 2019. The German carmaker distances Fiat (+129.1%) which reclaims the YTD top spot off Renault (+86%) down 4 ranks on last month to #5. Ford (+132.7%) is up one to #3 and Peugeot (+336.1%) manages the largest gain in the Top 6 and steps up two spots to #4. Opel (+378.2%) and Skoda (+196.8%) also outperform the market in the Top 10, with Audi (+676.9%), Seat (+327%), Citroen (+330.5%), Suzuki (+241.8%) and BMW (+205%) also outstanding further down.

The Fiat Egea (+172.8%) remains the best-selling vehicle in the country above the VW Passat (+253.2%), Toyota Corolla (+99.4%) and Ford Transit/Tourneo Courier (+246.8%). The Peugeot 3008 (+326.1%) leaps yo #6, with the Renault Clio (+418.3%), VW Golf (+274.1%), Opel Astra (+170.2%) and Hyundai i20 Troy (+168.5%) also in outstanding shape.
