Finland November 2019: Dacia Duster storms up to #6 in market edging up 0.2%

The Dacia Duster breaks into the Finnish Top 10 for the third time.

The Finnish new car market edges up 0.2% year-on-year in November to 8.616 units, leading to a year-to-date volume down -7.5% to 104.304. Both Toyota (+7.7%) and Volkswagen (+6.3%) advance a lot faster atop the brands ranking, distancing Skoda (-15%) and Volvo (-0.4%) both in difficulty. Mercedes (+19%) steps up two spots on October to #5 with the largest gain in the Top 8 just as Renault (-24.9%) and Ford (-24.3%) implode. Hyundai (+28.5%) and Nissan (+22.9%) round up the Top 10 on a high. Further down, Mazda (+56.5%), Dacia (+46.4%), Citroen (+29.7%) and Suzuki (+22.8%) shine.

Over in the models ranking, the Toyota Corolla (+2422.2%) aligns a 5th consecutive monthly win but this won’t be enough to dislodge the Skoda Octavia (+19.6%) from the YTD top spot this year. The Toyota Yaris (+7.8%) holds strong in third place ahead of the Nissan Qashqai (+29.8%) and VW Passat (+82.7%) both posting spectacular gains but the hero of the month is the Dacia Duster at #6, storming into the Finnish Top 10 for only the 3rd time in history after December 2016 (#5) and 2018 (#10) and accounting for a whopping 72% of Dacia sales this month. The VW T-Roc (+610.3%) breaks into the Top 10 for the first time at #8, with the Hyundai i30 (+142.3%), Opel Astra (+89.8%), Toyota RAV4 (+69.8%), Mercedes A-Class (+52.7%) and Ford Fiesta (+27.8%) also impressive in the remainder of the Top 30.
