Moldova October 2019: Skoda Octavia up 4-fold to top market up 21.4%

Based on data by our Central European partner CE Auto, the Moldovan new car market continues to gallop ahead at +21.4% year-on-year to 664 registrations, leading to a year-to-date volume up 6.5% to 5.439. Potentially thanks to end-of-generation discounts, the Skoda Octavia is up 4-fold on its October 2018 score and up 4 spots on September to easily snap the overall lead for the month and for the first time since last November with 7.8% share. The Dacia Logan (+2.6%) remains in 2nd place and cements its YTD domination at 7.9% of the market. Dacia also places the Duster (-5.6%) on the podium, leading a streak of 4 SUVs: the Toyota RAV4 (+92.9%), Hyundai Tucson (+17.4%), Kia Sportage (+35.3%) and Skoda Kodiaq. Thanks to the new model, the Toyota Corolla reappears in the Moldovan Top 10 for the first time since June 2018.
