Belgium October 2019: Volkswagen (+25.6%), Peugeot (+29.9%) top market up 15.8%

Volkswagen and Peugeot post the largest gains in the Top 5.

2/12 update: Now with the Top 10 models.

The Belgian new car market continues to benefit from particularly low year-ago post-WLTP volumes with October registrations up 15.8% year-on-year to 42.713 units, yet the year-to-date tally remains in negative at -2.2% to 481.968. Volkswagen (+25.6%) reclaims the brands top spot off Peugeot (+29.9%), both brands frankly outpacing the market and delivering the largest gains in a Top 5 completed by BMW (-5.8%), Mercedes (+9.2%) and Renault (-4.1%) all under-performing. Audi (+160.5%), Citroen (+61.4%) and Hyundai (+30.2%) also beat the market growth in the remainder of the Top 10 while further down, Porsche (+375.4%), Tesla (+368%), Ferrari (+114.3%), Jeep (+79.1%), Lexus (+59.4%), Seat (+53.8%), Alfa Romeo (+47.6%), Fiat (+43.9%), Mazda (+31.5%) and Land Rover (+27.4%) all impress. Model-wise, the VW Golf (-4.1%) reclaims the top spot it holds YTD, distancing the Renault Clio (+0.2%), Hyundai Tucson (+32.3%) and Renault Captur (+75.7%), replicating the YTD Top 4. The VW Polo (+14.4%) is up 4 spots on last month to #5.
