New light vehicle sales in Bahrain slow down their fall over Q3 at -6.9% year-on-year to 7.037 units, leading to a year-to-date volume down -12% to 21.809. Toyota (+5.5%) swims upstream with a solid gain, upping its market share to a gargantuan 43.9% over Q3 vs. 38.6% YTD. Nissan (-30.2%) on the other hand plummets but maintains its share to 10.8% vs. 10.7% YTD, distancing Hyundai (+0.2%) edging up to round out the podium. Lexus (+2.1%) also manages an uptick inside the Top 5 while Isuzu (+26.5%) and Mitsubishi (+16.3%) are the most dynamic Top 10 carmakers. Further down, MG (+79.1%), Suzuki (+74.1%), Cadillac (+61.5%), Volvo (+9.5%), Jeep (+7.2%) and Land Rover (+5.7%) are among the best performers just as newcomer Changan breaks into the Top 20.

Model-wise, both the Toyota Land Cruiser (+20.2%) and Prado (+11.5%) ignore the negative environment to control the charts, the Land Cruiser even hitting a splendid 14.1% share vs. 11.9% and the Prado stepping up to #2 overall vs. #3 so far in 2019. The Yaris (-14.8%) ensures the podium is 100% Toyota, knocking the Nissan Sunny (-40.3%) down to #4. Toyota places a total of 7 nameplates in the Top 9 over Q3: add the Hilux (+36.5%), Camry (-6.4%), Ace (new) and Corolla (+21.7%). Only the Hyundai Accent (+21.7%) and Isuzu TF (+110.8%) manage to also slide into the Top 10.
