Poland September 2019: Toyota Corolla scores 5th straight win, Volvo XC40 in Top 40

The Volvo XC40 scores its first Top 50 finish in Poland, directly at #38.

New light vehicle sales in Poland logically perk up 21% year-on-year in September to 39.500 units on weak year-ago post-WLTP volumes, leading to a year-to-date tally up 2.1% to 461.350. Passenger cars are even more dynamic at +30.2% to 34.777 but show consistency YTD at +2% and 402.258. Toyota (+43.1%) reclaims the brands top spot for third time in the past 5 months and is back above Volkswagen (+34.7%) in the year-to-date charts at #2. Skoda (+4.2%) underperforms but scores a higher share (11.2%) than YTD (10.8%). Opel (+63.8%), Mercedes (+50.8%), BMW (+48.3%), Kia (+37.9%), Citroen (+35.3%), Volvo (+32.2%) and Fiat (+25.7%) also post strong scores in the remainder of the Top 15.

In the models ranking, the Toyota Corolla (+333.3%) manages a very impressive 5th consecutive month in pole position, stepping up to #2 YTD and distancing the Skoda Octavia (+13%), Opel Corsa (+137.3%) and Astra (+65.4%) for the month. The Fiat Tipo (+429.2%), VW Tiguan (+243.6%), Toyota RAV4 (+159.2%), BMW 3 Series (+100.8%), VW Golf (+66.1%), Dacia Duster (+40%) and Kia Cee’d (+38%) also shine further down. The Skoda Scala (#33) tops new launches and the Volvo XC40 (#38) scores its first monthly Top 50 finish in Poland.
