Belgium September 2019: Peugeot snaps first win in at least 4 years in market back up 31.6%

The imminent arrival of the new gen 208 could install Peugeot in the Belgian #1 spot.

New car sales in Belgium logically bounce back up 31.6% year-on-year in September to 35.720 unit on weak post-WLTP year-ago volumes, yet the year-to-date tally remains in negative territory at -3.6% to 439.255. Peugeot (+10.4%) leaps up 5 spots on August to post its first monthly win in at least 4 years with 8.2% share, edging past Renault (+16.4%) for 30 sales. Volkswagen (+64.3%), leader year-to-date, drops to #3 ahead of Opel (+9.2%) and Mercedes (+56.8%). Audi (+155.8%) and Citroen (+154.4%) also impress in the Top 10 while further down, Alpine (+375%), Tesla (+346.7%), Porsche (+165.6%), Alfa Romeo (+164.7%), Jeep (+123%), Fiat (+114.4%), Seat (+94.4%), Lexus (+69.1%), Mini (+55.4%) and Dacia (+51.7%) also post spectacular gains. Model-wise, the Mercedes A-Class (+272.7%), Renault Captur (+199.2%) and Hyundai Tucson (+364.1%) dominate.
