Netherlands July 2019: Opel Crossland X up to record #2 in market down -6.8%

Opel Crossland X sales are up 244.5% year-on-year in the Netherlands.

The Dutch new car market slides down -6.8%  to 33.810 registrations in July, leading to a year-to-date tally down -10.2% to 259.662. Brand leader Volkswagen (-7%) matches the market to remain comfortably on top at 14.4% share vs. 8.4% for #2 Opel (+0.5%) with Ford (+35.9%) surging up 4 spots on June to fill the last step of the podium. Skoda (+47.3%), Toyota (+39.2%) and Citroen (+38%) also sport spectacular gains in the Top 10 whereas Peugeot (-19.9%) and Kia (-15.5%) struggle but none as much as Renault (-66.6%) drown to a paltry 12th place.

Model-wise, the VW Polo (+1.1%) is up 5 spots on last month to reclaim the pole position it holds year-to-date, but the event of the month is the arrival of the Opel Crossland X (+244.5%) at a record 2nd place with 2.9% share just one month after having broken into the Top 10 for the first time (#8 in June). The Ford Focus (+213.3%) also posts and outstanding result thanks to the new generation at #3, distancing the VW Golf (-2.8%), Up! (-10.1%) and Peugeot 108 (+44.3). Leader in June, the Tesla Model 3 is dow to a still very respectable #10 this month.
