Ukraine June 2019: Kia Sportage reclaims control, 4 SUVs in Top 5

The Kia Sportage is back in charge of the Ukrainian market.

After three consecutive months of gain, new car sales in Ukraine are almost immobile in June, losing just 13 units or -0.2% year-on-year to 6.500 registrations which brings the H1 2019 tally down -2% to 38.693. Toyota (+47.1%) and Renault (+44.4%) cement their domination of the brands charts with 16.9% and 15% share respectively, just in the opposite order as YTD. Suzuki (+17.3%), Nissan (+13.4%), BMW (+7.7%) and Kia (+7%) also advance in the Top 10 but Volkswagen (-56.4%), Skoda (-27.3%), Hyundai (-10.1%) and Peugeot (-8.4%) straggle mightily. Further down, JAC (+485.7%), Seat (+185.7%), Lada (+132.1%), Jaguar (+52.9%), Mitsubishi (+49.1%), Citroen (+48.8%), Volvo (+44.8%), Chery (+36.4%) and Porsche (+22%) all impress.

Over in the models ranking, the Top 9 best-sellers all gain ground year-on-year, with the Kia Sportage (+66.9%) up 2 spots on May to reclaim the pole position both this month and year-to-date (+168.5%). The Renault Logan (+84.6%) is also up two ranks to #2, ahead of the Toyota RAV4 (+97.2%), Renault Duster (+32.3%) and Toyota Prado (+129.2%), making it 4 SUVs in the Top 5. The Nissan Qashqai (+65.5%) and Renaut Sandero (+41.8%) also shine in the Top 10, while the Citroen C5 Aircross tops all new launches at #38, followed by the Audi Q8 (#57) and BMW X7 (#60) up 128 spots on May.
