Morocco May 2019: Citroen up 69.9% in market down -14.6%

Citroen sales surge 69.9% in a depressed market.

New vehicles sales in Morocco slow down their fall at -14.6% in May vs. a devastating -49.3% in April, with passenger cars down -15.3% to 10.021 and light commercials down -8.9%. Year-to-date, the market is down -13.1% with passenger cars down -15.9% but light commercials actually up 24.1%. Dacia (-7.4%) easily remains atop the brands ranking with a mammoth 34.9% share but it’s the three main French manufacturers that stun this month by posting gains: Citroen is up an incredible +69.9% to #6, Peugeot up 15% at #5 and Renault up 5.3% to #2. In contrast, Ford (-53.6%), Nissan (-47.9%), Toyota (-46.5%), Fiat (-42.1%) and Volkswagen (-28%) are all obliterated in the remainder of the Top 10.
