China LCV April 2019: New gen Mini Truck lifts Wuling up 21%

The Wuling Mini Truck is once again the best-selling LCV in China.

The Light Commercial Vehicle market is slowly getting its foot back onto BSCB updates, with April data now available. This segment continues to go against the general Chinese negative trend this year at +4% in April to 303.779 wholesales and +3% year-to-date to 1.124.613. Wuling (+21%) tightens its stranglehold on the market with over 60.000 sales for the month ahead of Foton (+12%), Changan (-3%) and Dongfeng (-2%). Jinbei (+31%) posts the largest gain in the Top 10, now that it is under Brilliance-Renault supervision. Model-wise, the Wuling Mini Truck (+31%) takes full advantage of its new generation, edging past the Foton Light Truck (+12%) with the Chana Light Truck (+10%).
