Media post: New Honda Passport’s Trim Levels Explained

Sitting between the three-row family oriented Pilot and the compact-size CR-V is the all-new 2019 Honda Passport. Since the Passport is smaller in stature than the mighty Pilot there is no third row. The extra space was instead dedicated to providing rear seat occupants with more leg room, which contributes to a more comfortable ride. The cargo area was also increased to 41.2 cu.-ft so you can fully load up your Passport for a road trip and still have plenty of space up front. The total cargo volume area was increased by 2.5 cu.-ft thanks to a larger “basement” cargo area, that is perfect for keeping valuables hidden or storing dirty gear.

Honda offers the all-new 2019 Passport in four different trim levels: Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Elite. Each version of the Honda Passport comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. According to our local Honda dealer, Miller Honda (Winchester, VA,)all that power allows the Passport to tow up to 5,000 pounds. The V6 engine comes mated with a nine-speed automatic transmission with auto stop-start technology so you can save on gas. While front-wheel drive is standard on the first three models the fourth, the Elite, comes standard with all-wheel-drive, which is optional for all other trim levels. For increased traction during inclement weather and tough terrain, Honda’s all-wheel-drive system comes with Intelligent Traction Management with Snow, Mud, and Sand modes.

While the Passport features a rugged exterior its not all about good looks. With a higher ride height of almost an inch compared to the Honda Pilot the Passport delivers exceptional functionality. The Passport is here to conquer the off-road with an approach angle of 21.4 degrees, a departure angle of 27.6 degrees, and an all-wheel-drive system that features terrain specific driving modes. The well-equipped Sport model comes with a 5-inch display screen, a seven-speaker sound system, Bluetooth, 20-inch wheels, keyless access and ignition, LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, and tri-zone automatic climate control.

The EX-L model builds upon the Sport models features with a sunroof, a power liftgate, rear window sunshades, heated side mirrors, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a larger 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, extra USB ports, and blind-spot monitoring. The Passport Touring adds comfort features such as heated rear seats, a hands-free liftgate, a 10-speaker sound system, navigation, front and rear parking sensors, acoustic glass on the front and rear doors, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, ambient lighting, roof rails, and a 115-volt power outlet.

Sitting at the top of the model line up is the fully equipped Passport Elite with ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a wireless smartphone charging pad, auto-dimming side mirrors, rain sensing wipers, LED interior lighting, a gloss-black liftgate spoiler, and gloss black exterior trim. Honda also offers a variety of accessories so you can further customize your 2019 Passport to better suit your lifestyle. An available roof basket, roof boxes of various sizes, and roof-mounted bike rack add increased utility to the Passport so you can better enjoy your time outdoors. Want to upgrade the look of the Passport? No problem, Honda offers a colored graphics package, color matched front and rear underbody spoilers, and undercarriage welcome lights.
