Greece April 2019: Toyota Yaris reclaims lead in market bouncing back up 17.2%

The Toyota Yaris is #1 in Greece in April.

After a painful -13.9% fall in March, the Greek new car market bounces back up 17.2% in April to 12.303 units, tilting back the YTD volume into positive at +3.5% to 38.592. Toyota (+23.9%) is up three spots on last month to reclaim the pole position it holds YTD with 11.3% share, distancing Peugeot (+10.5%), Volkswagen (+6.1%), Citroen (+73.6%) and Hyundai (+114.2%), the latter posting the largest gain in the Top 20. Opel (+26.3%) and Mercedes (+17.9%) also outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 10. Further down, Mitsubishi (+561.5%), Land Rover (+277.8%), Porsche (+266.7%), Dacia (+45%), Audi (+41.7%), Volvo (+32.6%) and Ford (+28.3%) also impress. Model-wise also the order is reestablished with the leader of the past 6 years the Toyota Yaris (+46.5%) back in the lead ahead of the VW Polo (-7.4%), Opel Corsa (+32.5%), Fiat Panda (+13.5%) and Citroen C3 (+47.6%). The entire Top 15 bar the Nissan Qashqai (+80.5%) is composed of small cars/crossovers.
