Greece March 2019: Fiat and Panda take control in market down -13.9%

The Fiat Panda is the best-selling vehicle in Greece in March.

New car sales in Greece skid down a harsh 13.9% year-on-year in March to just 9.518 units, tilting the year-to-date tally into negative territory at -1.8% to 26.289. As it was the case last May and after falling as low as #10 last November, Fiat (-0.8%) takes the lead of the Greek brands ranking for the month despite nudging down. It is followed by Peugeot (+16.8%) and Volkswagen (+6.7%) both swimming upstream with solid year-on-year gains. Traditional leader Toyota (-29%) freefalls to #4. In 5th place, Citroen (+21.9%) is the only other Top 15 carmaker in positive, with Renault (-44.4%), Nissan (-41.4%), Skoda (-34.6%), Ford (-31.9%) and Hyundai (-22%) hit the hardest. Model-wise, the Fiat Panda (-2.8%) snaps the pole position like a year ago in March 2018 ahead of the Peugeot 208 (+24%) and Citroen C3 (+48.3%) both in excellent shape. The VW T-Roc (+90.2%), Suzuki Baleno (+39.3%), Swift (+28.3%), Toyota C-HR (+20%), Opel Corsa (+10.8%) and Fiat Tipo (+10%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 15.
