Colombia February 2019: Chevrolet 49 sales above Renault in market up 0.7%

Chevrolet Beat sales are up 180.1% year-on-year in Colombia in February.

The Colombian new vehicle market edges up 0.7% year-on-year in February to 18.486 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally down -1% to 34.451. Chevrolet (-7.7%) holds onto the brands pole position by the skin of its teeth – in this case 49 sales – above Renault (+1.4%) with Nissan (-2.7%), Kia (-14.5%) and Mazda (-6.6%) rounding up the Top 5 but all in difficulty. In contrast, Hyundai (+37.9%), Suzuki (+31.1%), Toyota (+16.1%), Mercedes (+13.6%) and Volkswagen (+12.7%) all post fantastic gains in the remainder of the Top 12. Further down, Jeep (+132.4%), Peugeot (+71.6%), Citroen (+48.3%), Volvo (+34.4%), Changan (+32%) and Fiat (+31.1%) are among the best performers. The Renault Sandero (+12.5%) remains by far the most popular nameplate in the country, distancing the Chevrolet Spark (-30.3%), Renault Logan (-7.4%) and Chevrolet Onix (+96.6%). The Chevrolet Beat (+180.1%), Ford Ecosport (+89.9%), Mazda2 (+42.1%) and Toyota Fortuner (+34.4%) also shine near the top.
