Monaco Full Year 2018: Mercedes leads, Porsche #3, Bentley #11 and Ferrari #12 in market down 4.8%

Exclusive to BestSellingCarsBlog, we are able to share with you for the 8th year in a row official new car sales data for the Principality of Monaco. You won’t find this data anywhere else. Monaco is always a fascinating market to follow as it gives us a glimpse of what cars the rich and famous buy. New car sales in the country drop -4.8% year-on-year in 2018 to 3.183. Mercedes (-1.2%) resists better to score a 5th consecutive year in pole position at an astounding 15.9% share. Audi (-9.3%) on the other hand is in trouble, well relatively given it still holds 11.4% of the Monaco market. The best performer in the Top 10 by far is Porsche, up a fantastic 16.5% to cement its third position and break the 10% share barrier at 10.2%. Porsche remains the #3 brand in Monaco
Much more modest but understandable given the limited size of the Principalty, Smart (+5.3%) is up 3 spots to #4, knocking Land Rover (-15.1%) and BMW (-17%) down. Toyota (+4.3%) is also up 3 ranks to #6, while Bentley (-47.1%) is in difficulty but manages to hold onto an amazing 11th place overall. In contrast, Ferrari (+14.5%) is up two spots to #12, selling as many cars as Peugeot (-4.1%). Jeep (+110.7%), Kia (+78.3%), Jaguar (+65.6%), Volvo (+50%), Hyundai (+25%) and Lexus (+20%) also post brilliant gains, while Lamborghini (+14.8%) remains at #24, McLaren (+64.7%) is up 7 spots to #26 and Rolls Royce (+25%) is up 3 to #28. Alpine lands directly at #34.
