Singapore January 2019: Honda leads, Hyundai strong in market up 48%

Hyundai sales are up 227.9% in Singapore in January.

New car sales in Singapore shoot up 48% year-on-year in January to 8.257 registrations, with Honda (+50.9%) outpacing the market to snap the brands top spot off Toyota (+49.8%) and Mercedes (+51.2%) rounding up the podium. Hyundai (+227.9%) posts the largest gain in the Top 10 and is up 7 spots on December to #4 but only Kia (+52.9%) beats the market in the remainder of the Top 10 just as Mazda (-17.4%), Audi (+9.3%) and BMW (+25.6%) underperform. Further down, notice Suzuki (+5000%), Seat (+1850%), Citroen (+866.7%), Opel (+536.4%), Jaguar (+325%) and Renault (+100%) all posting spectacular gains while Skoda (#13) and Bluecar (#15) crack the January Top 15 whereas they didn’t sell a single unit in January 2018.
