Denmark January 2019: VW (+22.5%), Skoda (+39.4%) show off in market up a solid 7%

The Golf (+44.7%) helps Volkswagen up 22.5% this month in Denmark.

Danish new car sales start 2019 with a bang as January registrations bounce up 7% to 21.313 units. Volkswagen (+22.5%) is partly responsible for this surge at 13.8% share, distancing Peugeot (-0.5%) edging down but up to a fantastic 11.4% share vs. just 7.2% last month. Citroen (+15.6%) rallies back up 7 spots on December to #3, with Hyundai (+97.4%), Mazda (+55.8%), Skoda (+39.4%), Audi (+33.5%), Mercedes (+31.5%) and Toyota (+13%) also posting stunning results in the remainder of the Top 12. Sturdy gains are rarer further down and include Jeep (+1600%), Alfa Romeo (+100%), Jaguar (+34.3%), Seat (+31.1%) and Volvo (+23.8%). Model-wise, the Peugeot 208 (-25.1%) is back in charge despite a painful drop, distancing the Citroen C3 (+98.7%) and VW Golf (+44.7%), with the VW Tiguan (+159.4%), Kia Niro (+100%), Hyundai i10 (+65.3%), Citroen C1 (+57.1%), Skoda Citigo (+54.5%), Toyota Aygo (+50.9%), Skoda Octavia (+26.7%) and VW Polo (+24.2%) also showing fantastic resolve.
