Slovakia November 2018: Skoda (+24%), Dacia (+79%) stabilise market up 0.6%

1 in every 4 new cars sold in Slovakia in November is a Skoda.

New car sales in Slovakia have recovered from post-WLTP gloom with November volumes up 0.6% to 8.323, bringing the year-to-date total up 4.6% to 92.115 units. Brand leader Skoda (+24%) posts a spectacular gain to reach 25.6% share vs. just 19.9% so far this year, with Dacia (+79%) and Peugeot (+23%) also extremely impressive while Volkswagen (+5%), Mercedes (+3%) and Toyota (+2%) also post positive results inside the Top 10. Hyundai (-0.2%) edges down but Nissan (-48%), Renault (-44%), Audi (-40%), Lada (-39%), Opel (-30%), Suzuki (-23%), BMW (-21%) and Citroen (-15%) all struggling. Further down, Jaguar (+107%), Mini (+69%), Subaru (+67%), Volvo (+51%) and Mitsubishi (+35%) stand out. The Skoda Octavia holds onto the top spot above the YTD leader, its smaller sibling the Skoda Fabia, while the Kia Cee’d climbs onto the podium above the Skoda Rapid and the Skoda Karoq remains at a strong #6.
