Greece October 2018: Toyota Yaris kills competition in market up 13%

The Toyota Yaris outsells all brands bar Toyota in Greece this month.

New car sales in Greece have already advanced past the post-WLTP with October volumes back up 13% year-on-year to 7.125, leading to a year-to-date tally up 19.7% to 91.201. YTD Brand leaders Toyota (+37%) and Volkswagen (+30%) drive much faster than the market to cement their Greek domination, while Opel (-3%) and Peugeot (+2%) under-perform in the Top 4. Citroen (+35%), Suzuki (+28%) and Hyundai (+21%) also outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 10 while further down, Jaguar (+1000%!), Land Rover (+73%), Kia (+52%), Volvo (+48%), Dacia (+39%), Mini (+34%) and Skoda (+29%) make themselves noticed. The Toyota Yaris (+39%) is ultra-dominant this moth: it easily outsells all brands bar Toyota at 9.6% share, way above the Opel Corsa (-2%), VW Polo (+189%) and Renault Clio (-4%). The Fiat Panda (+7%), Ford Fiesta (+3%), Citroen C3 (+33%) and Peugeot 208 (-23%) make the Top 8 100% small cars. Excellent performances of the Toyota C-HR (+145%), Audi A3 (+139%), Nissan Micra (+83%), Suzuki Swift (+74%) and Toyota Aygo (+67%). The Volvo XC40 (#24) tops recent launches above the Skoda Karoq (#25), Hyundai Kona (#35) and VW T-Roc (#38).
