New light vehicle sales in Turkey stand on the brakes this month, imploding down 39% year-on-year to 51.037 units,  the lowest June score since 2012 (50.849), leading the year-to-date total down 14.4% to 353.348, the lowest halfway result since 2014 (286.861). Renault (-34%) manages to lose slightly less ground than the market to improve its share to 15.9% as does #2 Ford (-35%) to 11.6%, while Volkswagen (-41%) steps past Fiat (-52%) in complete freefall. Isuzu (+167%), Volvo (+54%) and Honda (+12%) are the only Top 20 carmakers to manage a year-on-year gain, with Honda the only one in the Top 10. BMW (-2%), Skoda (-11%), Kia (-20%), Hyundai (-28%), Dacia (-29%) and Nissan (-31%) resist somewhat whereas Audi (-69%), Seat (-69%), Citroen (-62%), Opel (-62%), Mercedes (-46%) and Toyota (-46%) fall apart.

The Renault Clio is the best-selling model in Turkey in June.

The Renault Clio (-30%) reclaims the lead of the Turkish monthly ranking for the second time in the past three months but only the third time in the past 18 thanks to a solid resistance. It knocks the Fiat Egea (-43%) down to #2 and the Renault Megane (-25%) to #3. Yet the year-to-date charts are still dominated by the Megane (+6%) thanks to the sedan variant representing 95% of its sales so far in 2018, ahead of the Egea (-9%) with this time 92% of sales held by the sedan while the Clio(+1%) is stuck at #3. The Honda Civic (+29%) is the only Top 15 nameplate gaining ground year-on-year, surging up to #4. The Nissan Qashqai (-9%) and VW Passat (-18%) also resist in the Top 10 while outside, the Isuzu D-Max (+211%), Volvo S60 (+176%), BMW 3 Series (+71%), Skoda Octavia (+21%), Peugeot 3008 (+20%), Hyundai Accent Blue (+19%), Kia Cerato (+14%) and Hyundai Elantra (+9%) make themselves noticed. The Skoda Karoq (#67) and Mercedes X-Class (#78) top recent launches.
