Kuwait November 2017: Toyota Prado at 13.3% in market down 9.3%

The Toyota Prado is by far the best-selling vehicle in Kuwait in November.

The Kuwaiti new car market is down 9.3% year-on-year in November to 8.757 registrations, pulling the year-to-date volume down 7.7% to 92.115. Brand leader Toyota follows the market at -8% but pulls a much higher share than YTD at 35.3% vs. 29%. Chevrolet is the only carmaker to gain ground in the Top 5 at +4% to 8.7% share, leaping up to 2nd place above Nissan (-11%), Kia (-15%) and Mitsubishi (-1%). GMC (+20%), Honda (+55%) and Ford (+130%) all post spectacular improvement inside the Top 10. Further down, notice Jeep (+13%), Land Rover (+29%), Suzuki (+55%) and Chinese SAIC up an extravagant 856% year-on-year to a round 1% market share.

The MG360 is the best-selling recent launch in Kuwait this month.

In the models ranking, the Toyota Prado cements its domination with a stunning 13.3% share even though it is down 28% on November 2016. It is followed by the Toyota Land Cruiser shooting up 108% year-on-year to 5.8% and the Kia Sportage up 27% to 3.9% vs. 2% and #10 year-to-dte. The Toyota Corolla (+6%) and Camry (-5%) round up the Top 5 with the Chevrolet Tahoe (-6%) in tow. #2 year-to-date, the Mitsubishi Pajero tumbles down 34% to #9. The Nissan Sunny (+382%), Kia Optima (+272%), Mitsubishi L200 (+261%), Chevrolet Trailblazer (+245%), Honda Accord (+176%), Honda Civic (+128%) and Nissan Sentra (+117%) also make themselves noticed in the Top 30. The MG360 (#31), Nissan Kicks (#35) and Chevrolet Equinox (#37) top recent launches (<12 months).
