Cyprus Full Year 2017: Ford Focus back to #1, Toyota C-HR lands at #5

The Ford Focus is back to the #1 spot in Cyprus for the first time since 2010.

Thanks to our partnership with SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT, we can share with you 2017 figures for Cyprus, a market up 2.9% to 13.015 registrations, up 4.3% to 15.109 units including light commercials. Ford remains the brand leader with sales up 2% to 14.8% share, while Toyota jumps two spots and 38% to #2 overall at 12.2%, overtaking Nissan (-12%) while Kia (+23%) passes Volkswagen (-27%) to rank #4. Mercedes gains 13% but remains 6th, distancing BMW (+7%). Hyundai (+32%) and Audi (+27%) also impress and break into the Top 10 whereas Renault (-34%) and Land Rover (-36%) step out of it. Citroen (+85%), Isuzu (+44%), Skoda (+30%), Opel (+24%) and Peugeot (+23%) post the largest year-on-year gains in the remainder of the Top 20.

The Toyota C-HR lands its second highest 2017 ranking in the world in Cyprus. 

Model-wise, the Ford Focus reclaims a leadership it is estimated to have last held back in 2010. thanks to deliveries shooting up 35% to 4.8% share, going from #5 in 2016 directly to #1. The Hyundai Tucson also impresses with a 56% gain lifting it from #6 to #2, while the Nissan Qashqai drops 17% and one rank to #3. Outstanding debut for the Toyota C-HR launched in December 2016: it ends its first full year in market in 5th place, the nameplate’s second highest annual ranking in the world below just home in Japan where it ranked #4. Inside the Top 10, the Kia Rio (+30%) and VW Tiguan (+51%) also impress whereas the Ford Fiesta (-26%) and VW Golf (-58%) both implode. The Mercedes GLC (+109%), Ford Kuga (+81%), Kia Picanto (+59%), Nissan Pulsar (+46%), Toyota Corolla (+45%), Mercedes C-Class (+26%) and BMW X1 (+23%) all make their way into the 2017 Top 20.
