Netherlands October 2017: VW Up and Golf top market up 24.5%

New car sales in the Netherlands are up a flamboyant 24.5% year-on-year to 37.130 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total up 14.4% to 360.423 units. Market leader Volkswagen trails the overall growth significantly, up just 8% to end the month one lonely unit above Renault (+28%), while followers Peugeot (+31%), Opel (+29%), Ford (+40%), Kia (+46%) and Toyota (+32%) all outpace the market and gain market share. Further down, notice Mercedes (+32%), Hyundai (+38%), Mini (+43%), Dacia (+52%), Alfa Romeo (+53%), Suzuki (+86%), Jeep (+102%) and Tesla (+133%) among the best performers this month. In the models ranking, the VW Up shoots up 80% to snap the pole position for the second time this year after last May, distancing the VW Golf (+32%), Renault Clio (+17%) and Ford Focus, up a staggering 173%. The Opel Astra (-7%) rounds up the Top 5 and is the only nameplate in negative in the Top 15. The Renault Megane (+51%), Captur (+31%) and Skoda Octavia also shine inside the Top[ 10, while below the Toyota Yaris (+52%), Nissan Qashqai (+86%), Peugeot 3008 (+387%), Opel Karl +45%), Citroen C3 (+48%), Hyundai Tucson (+95%) and Renault Scenic (+4588%) make themselves noticed. The Opel Crossland X (#30) leads recent launches ahead of the Suzuki Ignis (#41), Toyota C-HR (#59), Skoda Kodiaq (#76), Citroen C3 Aircross (#96) and Kia Stonic (#98)
