Europe September 2017: Discover the Top 348 models and Top 55 brands

Final data for Europe is now available, with September sales confirmed to be down 2.2% year-on-year to 1.458.556 units, leading to a year-to-date total up 3.3% or 390.000 sales to 11.934.574. There is one change in the Top 10 brands compared to the data detailed in our previous September European sales post: Mercedes (+0.8%) overtakes Opel/Vauxhall (-10%) to a splendid 4th place overall. Further down, Mini (-5.2%) is now above Suzuki (+18.6%) at #20, Jaguar (-16.4%) passes Alfa Romeo (+15.9%) to #27, Chevrolet (+40.5%) is now above Ferrari (-27%) at #43 and Dodge (-3.4%) overtakes Lotus (-46.8%) to #48. There are still only three Chinese brands in the European Top 55 as per last month: MG down 16.2% to #38, Geely up 41.7% to #51 and DR Motor up 170% to #53.

Over in the models ranking, the entire Top 10 is confirmed which means the Nissan Qashqai cements its record 2nd place at 28.996 sales (+13.6%). The Fiat 500 (-6%) overtakes the Ford Fiesta (-46.4%) and Renault Captur (-9%) for #11, the Mercedes A-Class (+1.6%) passes the VW Passat (-4.3%) to rank at #18, the Peugeot 3008 (+157.6%) is now above its sibling the 2008 (-15.6%) at #28, the Hyundai i10 (+8%) had been left behind in the preliminary Top 50 but now appears in 41st position, knocking all below nameplates one spot down. Finally the Seat Leon (-12.5%) is now 30 units above its sibling the Ibiza (+12.6%) while the Toyota C-HR now ranks above the Nissan Micra (+34.1%).

Outside the Top 50 and among recent launches, the Audi Q2 is down 7 spots to #56, the Skoda Kodiaq is down 13 to #70, the Opel Crossland X is up 12 to #73, the Suzuki Ignis down 15 to #112, the Jeep Compass up 31 to #125, the Citroen C3 Aircross up 155 to #135, the Range Rover Velar up 42 to #143 and the Opel Grandland X up 70 to #200. The Renault Scenic is up 94% to #54 thanks to the new generation, the Seat Ateca is up 90.1% to #66 and the Peugeot 5008 up 160.2% to #103. Finally we welcome the Kia Stonic at #203, the Kia Stinger at #261 and the Seat Arona at #287.
