Belgium October 2017: Renault, Peugeot and Dacia shine

Peugeot sales are up 27% year-on-year in Belgium in October.

New car sales in Belgium are up 3.6% year-on-year to 43.500 units in October, lifting the year-to-date volume up 2.7% to 478.841 sales. Renault beats the market with a 10% gain to climb to pole position with 9.7% share and now finds itself only 476 units below Volkswagen year-to-date. Peugeot surges 27% to third place and 8%, distancing Mercedes (+6%), BMW (-15%) and Audi (+3%). In the remainder of the Top 10, Ford (+14%) and Nissan (+8%) shine  while Opel and Citroen struggle with sales down 10% each. Further down, Porsche (+28%), Fiat (+29%), Seat (+37%), Mini (+40%), Dacia (+47%), Smart (+71%) and Ferrari (+83%) sign the largest year-on-year gains.

The Top 10 models for the January-October period are now available, and the VW Golf tightens its grip on the sales charts thanks to a stunning 115% gain in October to 2.5% share, leading to a 64% year-to-date uplift. The Renault Clio (-12%) and Hyundai Tucson (-25%) round up the podium and replicate the YTD order, while the Peugeot 2008 climbs to #4 in spite of a 3% drop and the Peugeot 208 returns to the YTD Top 10 at #10.
