Argentina October 2017: VW Gol, Chevy Onix & Prisma shine in market up 23.1%

New vehicle sales in Argentina are up a robust 23.1% year-on-year in October to 76.096 units, lifting the year-to-date tally up a splendid 29% to 768.599 deliveries. There is however uncertainty in the market as the government announced a tax reform that has the potential to affect car prices greatly. The brands podium remains unchanged on last month: Volkswagen is up 45% to 16.4% share above Chevrolet up 44% to 14.8% and Ford up 19% to 13.1%. Fiat (+30%), Renault (-13%) and Toyota (+26%) are also above the symbolic 10% market share, with Citroen (+51%) and Nissan (+134%) the biggest gainers inside the Top 10. Below, Lifan (+334%), Jeep (+145%), Chery (+88%), DS (+81%), Mitsubishi (+64%), Audi (+46%) and Alfa Romeo (+44%) are among the best performers.
The Lifan Myway breaks into the Argentinean Top 100.
The VW Gol Trend continues to dominate the Argentinean models ranking, surging 79% year-on-year this month, a gain topped by the #2 the Chevrolet Onix soaring up 121%. The Toyota Hilux (+16%) and Etios (+26%) follow, while the Renault Sandero (+50%), Chevrolet Prisma (+127%) and Ford Ka (+57%) all post spectacular gains just below. It is also the case for the VW Up (+96%), Amarok (+41%), Fiat Mobi (+95%), Toro (+58%), VW Suran (+66%), Chevrolet Cruze (+146%), Tracker (+84%) and S10 (+75%), all within the Top 25. The Renault Captur (#35) leads recent launches above the Fiat Argo up 57 spots on last month to #43, the Citroen C-Elysee (#45), Nissan Kicks (#52) and Peugeot 301 (#55). The Lifan Myway is up 34 spots to break into the Argentinean Top 100 for the first time at #87, ranking #3 Chinese nameplate below the Chery QQ (#68) and Lifan Foison (#69).
