Hungary September 2017: Suzuki Vitara up 102% in market up 16.8%

The Suzuki Vitara holds 8.8% of the Hungarian market in September.

The Hungarian new car market is up another whopping 16.8% year-on-year in September to 9.607 units, with the year-to-date tally now up 19.1% to 82.681. Suzuki more than doubles the market growth with a 37% surge to 14.1% share in August, matching its YTD progression to 13% share. Ford (+10%) is back up two spots to the #2 rank it holds year-to-date but with a weaker 9.1% share, and Opel also trails the market at +6% to 8.5% in third place. Toyota on the other hand signs the largest gain in the Top 10 at +47%, with other great gainers including Dacia (+44%), Kia (+39%), Hyundai (+33%) and Renault (+23%). Skoda drops 15% to #6. Model-wise, the Suzuki Vitara more than doubles its sales year-on-year (+102%) to hit a stunning 8.8% market share, distancing the Skoda Octavia (-11%) and Ford Focus (+62%). The Dacia Duster is  up 80% to #6, the Hyundai i30 breaks into the Top 10 at #7 vs. #47 in 2016 and the VW Golf also returns to the Top 10 at #8.
