It’s a disappointing month for new car sales in Norway with registrations down 3% to 13.398 units, yet the Q1 tally is still up 3% to 38.241. Thanks to a flamboyant performance of the CH-R surging up to #3 overall and the RAV4 up 37%, Toyota takes the lead of the brands ranking for the month with deliveries up 11% to 1.704 and 12.7% share. For its part, Volkswagen sinks 30% to 1.563 and 11.6% whereas just below BMW (+13%), Volvo (+38%) and Mercedes (+14%) are in great shape. Tesla is back up 13 spots on last month and 53% year-on-year to #7 overall, mainly thanks to 446 deliveries of the Model X, making the nameplate surge 59 ranks on February to a splendid 4th place overall.

Norway remains the kingdom of alternative fuel vehicles, with 40% of VW Golf sold this month being the e-Golf and 19% the PHEV variant, 90% of Toyota C-HR sold, 416 out of 416 RAV4 and 336 out of 338 Yaris being the hybrid variant and 91% of Mitsubishi Outlander being the PHEV version. Then we have the all-electric Nissan Leaf at #2, Tesla Model X at #4, BMW i3 at #7 and Renault Zoe at #9.
