Moldova Full Year 2016: Dacia Logan resists Hyundai Tucson assault

 The Hyundai Tucson topped the monthly Moldovan charts three times in 2016.

According to our Central European market data partner CE Auto, new car sales in Moldova are up 18.5% year-on-year in 2016 to 4.195 registrations. Although the Dacia Logan lodges an 11th consecutive year in pole position with deliveries up 17% to 348, its domination was challenged this year by the Hyundai Tucson, #1 in January, March and May and finishing the year at a stunning 2nd place with 6.3% share, up 148% on its 2015 result. In third place, the Skoda Rapid also takes off with sales up 167% to 5.3% share, even ranking #1 in December. The Octavia (+13%) and Superb (+59%) make it three Skodas in the Top 5 just as the Fabia drops 18% and 5 spots to $10. Notice also the Suzuki Vitara (+45%) and Toyota RAV4 (+48%) both frankly outpacing the market.
