Pakistan May 2015: Suzuki Bolan and Ravi deliver sharp gains again

Only sales of locally-produced models are available monthly in Pakistan, giving us an insight into what should form roughly 80 to 90% of the overall Pakistani market. Sales of new locally-produced models are up a fantastic 57% year-on-year in May to 19.337 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 94.725 units, up 49% on 2014. Below the Toyota Corolla more than doubling its sales year-on-year to 5.030 units thanks to the new generation, the Suzuki Bolan and Ravi continue to deliver astounding gains at 135% and 167% respectively, and now both threaten the Suzuki Mehran for 2nd place overall in 2015. This is likely the result of a much awaited production increase to finally satisfy local demand for this type of very affordable vehicle in Pakistan.
