New car sales in Romania are up by a shy 4% year-on-year in November at 5,669 deliveries, bringing the year-to-date total to 64,577 units, up a much more impressive 24% on 2013. Nevertheless many manufacturer vastly outperform the market this month in Romania: below local carmaker Dacia evolving like the market at +4% YOY and 31.9% share, Skoda is up 10% to 11.4% share vs. 9.7% YTD. Mitsubishi is up 97%, Fiat up 78%, Mercedes up 71%, Honda up 43%, Seat up 30%, Nissan up 38%, Renault up 37% and BMW up 22%. Model-wise, on face value the Dacia Logan keeps the lead for the 123rd consecutive month and by far thanks to 865 sales for a 15.3% market share, however when we remove the MCV variant (150 sales in November), its advantage on the Dacia Duster thaws significantly. That’s because the Duster hits its highest-ever market share at home (and in the world) in November at 10.3% thanks to 582 units sold. Note a study by format shows no Duster pickups sold yet.

Below, the Skoda Rapid shines in 4th place, the Dacia Dokker is up a further two spots on October to #6 and makes it four Dacias in the Top 6 along with the Sandero at #5, the Fiat 500L is up to #12 vs. #25 YTD, the Renault Captur is up to #13, the Opel Mokka up to #17 vs. #43 YTD and the Opel Antara up to #24 vs. #48 YTD. Finally, notice the BMW X4 up to #87 and the Citroen C4 Cactus making its first appearance in the Romanian Top 100 at #88.
