Slovakia August 2014: VW Up shoots into Top 10

Always a little bit of delay for Slovakia data, with August now available. 5,668 new cars found a buyer this month, with Skoda once again monopolising the podium with the Fabia (5.3%), Octavia (4.9%) and Rapid (4.8%) in the same order as year-to-date. It also means the Fabia is slowing distancing itself from the Octavia year-to-date at 2,743 sales vs. 2,685 after 8 months. Far from being a definitive advantage for the Full Year 2014 title, but with the new generation coming in soon, the Fabia has just taken a very serious option at the annual crown. Further down, the VW Golf is back to #4, followed by the Hyundai i30 and Suzuki SX4 while two additional Volkswagens find their way into the Slovak Top 10 this month: the Passat is up to #8 vs. #16 YTD and the Up lands at #10 vs. #63 YTD, selling as much in one month as during the rest of the year so far… Notice also the Dacia Logan MCV up to #16, Mazda3 up to #17 and the VW Golf Sportsvan up to #44.
