As the year progresses, the European best-selling models sales charts cements itself and less changes are visible at the top of the ranking. This month we see no change inside the Top 20, and a counter-intuitive position swap just outside with the Citroen C3 (+35%) overtaking the Peugeot 2008 (+362%) even though the latter can still be considered in launch mode. A hiccup that will be reversed in the coming months unless the 2008 has found its cruising (and very satisfying) rhythm at #22 in Europe. The Seat Leon is up two spots compared to last month to #24, exchanging its ranking with the BMW 1 Series while the VW Up stays at #25.

The Leon is now almost 10 places above its little sister the Ibiza (#33), once upon a time the Spanish brand’s sole true breadwinner. Similarly, the Dacia Duster is up two ranks to #27 vs. -2 to #29 for the Toyota Auris. The Mercedes A-Class overtakes the C-Class to become the brand’s best-seller in Europe so far in 2014 at #31, the Mercedes E-Class passes the BMW 5 Series to lead its segment at #38, the Kia Sportage is up two spots to #43 and the Hyundai ix35 up one to #46.
