Europe (brands) January 2014: Peugeot up to #3

New car sales in Europe are up 5% year-on-year in January to 967,778 registrations, meaning the European market has now been up for 5 consecutive months after lodging a 6th year in a row of decline in 2013. Would this be the end of the tunnel for European car sales? Only a brands ranking is available for now, I will publish a models ranking as soon as it becomes available. The entire brands podium performs better than the market with Volkswagen in the lead by far at 122,649 sales (+8%) followed by Ford at 67,043 and Peugeot at 61,411 (+9% each). Renault is down from #3 over the Full Year 2013 to #4 at 59,155 units (+4%) while Opel continues to sink: down 8% to #5. Audi ranks 6th like in 2013 and Citroen passes BMW and Mercedes to rank #7. Notice also Toyota up 15% on January 2013 to #11, Skoda up 10% to #12, Dacia up 38% to #15 and Mazda up 27% to #19.
