Finally some great news coming from Southern Europe: the Slovenian new car market is up a very robust 10% year-on-year in August to 3,373 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 35,831 units, up 1% on 2012. The trend we have observed last month intensifies: the Kia Cee’d tests new heights in Slovenia and sells 233 units for a record 6.9% market share, that’s only 17 sales below the country’s traditional leader the Renault Clio at 250 units and 7.4%. The Cee’d is however still #3 year-to-date below the VW Golf, down to #4 this month.

The Renault Scenic also impresses: it is up 10 ranks on July to land on the third step of the podium with 171 sales and 5.1%. The other big event this month is Slovenia is the Renault Captur up 7 spots to break into the Top 10 for the first time at #9 with 68 sales and 2% share, making Slovenia the first country in the world (apart France) to welcome the Captur inside the Top 10. Notice also the Dacia Duster up 12 to #10, the BMW 3 Series up 15 to #16, BMW 5 Series up to #18, VW Tiguan up 23 to #21 and the Mini Countryman up to #24.

  1. Well news are not so good. Last month there were 1/3 of all cars registrated in last 2 days of the month, but i do not know for this month. Captur is indeed selling well and Clio is traditional. BMW 3 could be up becuse of registrations for Euro Basket becuse BMW if official sponsor.
