Chinese cars are starting to get themselves noticed on the world scene: in 2012 no less than 3 separate models managed to top the monthly ranking overseas: the Geely CK in Ukraine, Great Wall Steed in Bulgaria and DongFeng S30 in Venezuela. However world sales of Chinese models are still mostly fuelled by their success at home. Proof: the 5 best-selling Chinese models worldwide in 2012 are all commercial vehicles that sold mostly in China: the Wuling Sunshine leads at #20 overall followed by the Wuling Rongguang (#40), Foton Forland (#51), Wuling Hongguang (#55) and ChangAn Minibus (#65).
The Roewe 350 is #266 in the world in 2012.
The best-selling Chinese Passenger Car is the BYD F3 at #127 with 168,634 sales, helped by the launch of the 2nd generation during the year. The Chery QQ is just behind at #130 and 162,213 units, ahead of the Great Wall Steed at #138 with 153,630 sales and the Emgrand EC7 at #143 and 150,046 units. The Great Wall Voleex C30 rounds up the Chinese Top 10 at #150 overall with 142,631 sales.
The Baojun 630 ranks #279 worldwide in 2012.
