Vietnam July 2011: Kia Morning back on top

The Vietnamese car market is down 11% this month at 8,544 registrations, however the year-to-date total is still up 1% at 61,132 units. For the second time in 3 months the Kia Morning is the best-selling car in the country with 668 sales and a very robust 7.8% share, now up to #3 year-to-date at 3,243 units and 5.3% share.

Recovering from earthquake-induced supply issues, the Toyota Corolla is up 2 spots this months to #2 with 637 sales and a strong 7.3% share. At 3,434 units and 5.6% year-to-date, the Corolla now challenges the domination of the Toyota Innova, holding 5.7% with 3,493 sales and down to #4 at 4.4% in July. The Toyota Fortuner is 3rd in July (5.9%) and 4th year-to-date (5.1%).

Good month for the Kia Forte, up 2 spots to #5, the Chevrolet Spark, up 11 spots to #6 and the newly launched Ford Fiesta, up 5 spots to #8 for its first time within the Vietnamese Top 10 with 269 sales and 3.1%.
