Sweden 2002-2003: Volvo V70 & Saab 9-5 dominate, Megane a hit

Car sales in Sweden stabilise at 254,589 units in 2002 and 261,206 in 2003. The Volvo V/C70 stays brilliantly above 10%, followed both years by the Saab 9-5 at 6.4% in 2002 and 5.9% in 2003.

The Renault Megane jumps 7 spots to land on the podium at #3 in 2002 at 10,092 sales (4%), the first time in 6 years a foreign model is on the podium and the first time ever a French model does so! It drops to 6th in 2003, replaced by the new generation Saab 9-3 at #3 with 11,595 sales and 4.4%, up from #4 (3.8%) in 2002. The VW Golf goes from 6th in 2002 to 4th in 2003, whereas the Volvo S40/V40 is stable at #5 both years.
