France 2000: Clio winner ahead of 206 and Scenic

The French car market is stable in 2000 at 2,133,884 registrations. The Renault Clio keeps the lead at 8.8% but the Peugeot 206 is getting significantly closer at 8.3% for its 2nd full year of sales. In 3rd, the Renault Scenic delivers its best-ever year with a 6.5% market share and close to 140,000 sales. The Peugeot 406 is solid in 4th ahead of the Renault Megane and Citroen Saxo.

The Citroen Picasso is up to a fantastic 11th place for its first full year in market at 59,180 sales, while the Fiat Punto is the most popular foreign model at #12 with 56,744 units and 2.7% share above the VW Golf (#13), VW Polo (#14), Opel Corsa (#15), Ford Focus (#16), Fiesta (#17) and Opel Astra (#19)
