* See ‘Read more’ for the Top 10 best-selling models, many thanks to Florian for the tip! *

Car sales in Luxembourg are up a healthy 10% in 2010 at 49,726 registrations. It is extremely rare to come across a models ranking for this country so enjoy! Like in 2009 the VW Golf is the best-selling car in Luxembourg with sales up 7% to 2,349 units and 4.7% share, followed this year by the VW Polo with 1,897 sales and 3.8% (+45%).

The Renault Megane is #3 at 1,449 units (+33%) and the Renault Clio #4 with 1,314 sales (+5%). While the BMW 3 Series goes from #4 to #10 this year (-18%), the BMW 1 Series is up one spot and 5% to #5 at 1,187 units and 2.4% share. It is possibly its highest ranking in any country in the world.

Luxembourg August 2010

BMW 5 Series

It’s very rare to have access to car sales results in Luxembourg (last time I managed to do so was 3 years ago!) so let’s enjoy them while we got them!

No model detail is available but the market is pretty dynamic with 20.189 sales in 8 months, a 5.32% increase over 2009.

Good results for the VW Polo, Golf and Passat, all in the Top10 apparently, as well as the Renault Scenic and Megane, the Audi A4, BMW 5 Series, Peugeot 3008 and Mercedes E Class.

That’s all the detail I could get, so if anyone has access to more info regarding models please click above the picture and leave a comment !

The Audi A4 is up 4 spots in spite of sales down 13% to reach an excellent 2nd place at 1,331 units, ahead of the VW Polo also up 4 ranks with 1,311 sales and the BMW 3 Series, down 30% to 1,230 units. For the first time in Luxembourg there are two Audis in the Top 5 with the Audi A3 up 3 spots to #5 with 1,161 sales. Notice the BMW 1 Series down 36% to #6.
