Thanks to our partnership with Eastern European data specialist CE Auto we can share with you today August data for the Republic of Macedonia. Sales are down 12% year-on-year to 405 units, but the year-to-date tally remains in positive at +7% to 3.874 sales. One of the smallest markets in Europe, the Republic of Macedonia is also one of its most unstable in terms of ranking. In August we have a surprise leader in the Mitsubishi L200, granted, only 20 sales were enough to reach that spot but the nameplate had never appeared in our Macedonian Top 10s before. The Peugeot 208, also a rare member of the Top 10 here, follows in 2nd place while the Citroen C3 rounds the podium. Leader both in 2016 and so far this year, the Dacia Duster is relegated to 6th place, while the 2017 #2, the VW Golf, ranks 7th and the 2017 #3, the Ford Fiesta, doesn’t crack the August Top 10.

There is a surprise atop the models ranking: the Peugeot 301 soars to pole position thanks to a splendid 6.9% market share, distancing the Ford Fiesta, Opel Corsa and Toyota Corolla. This performance enables the 301 to break into the year-to-date Top 10 at #10. The Kia Sportage rounds up the Top 5, while the Fiat Ducato (#7) and Doblo (#9) both make an appearance in the Top 10. Outside the 10 best-sellers in May, the Dacia Duster, #1 in 2016, however remains in the year-to-date lead despite sales down 34%.

Consult 10 years worth of Macedonian Historical Data here

Thanks to our partnership with Eastern European data specialist CE Auto, we can share with you today annual sales figures for the Republic of Macedonia, which on paper appear to have lost more than half its volume year-on-year at 5.656 vs. 13.200, however 2016 figures may not be complete. We witness a complete reshuffle atop the Macedonian models ranking: the Dacia Duster almost doubles its sales year-on-year (+97%) to brilliantly take the lead with 270 sales – it ranked #10 in 2015. The Duster distances the VW Golf (+10%), 2015 leader the VW Passat (-19%), Ford Fiesta (+2%) and the Kia Sportage breaking into the Macedonian Top 10 at #5 thanks to the new generation. The Dacia Sandero (#7) and Seat Leon (#8) also make their appearance among the country’s 10 favourite nameplates.

According to Central European market data specialists CE Auto, 451 new cars found a buyer in the Republic of Macedonia in July, adding up to 3.156 units so far this year. Like in May, the Citroen C-Elysée is the most popular car in the Republic of Macedonia with 6.2% market share. It distances the Kia Sportage, VW Passat, Opel Astra and VW Golf, with the Ford Focus and Skoda Fabia making a rare appearance inside the Top 10.

Based on data unveiled by Central European market data specialists www.ceauto.co.hu, new car sales in the Republic of Macedonia are down 4% year-on-year to 432 registrations, but the year-to-date tally remains frankly in positive territory at +13% and 2.205 deliveries. As it was the case a year ago, the Citroen C-Elysée takes the lead of the Macedonian sales charts thanks to 25 units sold, yet this is not enough to allow the nameplate to break into the year-to-date Top 10. The VW Golf and Kia Sportage share the 2nd spot with 18 sales, ahead of the VW Passat, Seat Leon and Opel Astra. Still leader year-to-date, the Dacia Duster reappears inside the monthly Top 10 but can’t do better than a 7th place in May.

Note Mazda, Hyundai, BMW and Mercedes have stopped reporting sales for this country and therefore are not included in this ranking. In March the Skoda Octavia is the best-seller here with 6.6% share above the VW Passat and Golf with the Skoda Rapid and Seat Leon rounding up the Top 5. The year-to-date picture is however different: if the Passat and Golf are #2 and #3 again, the Dacia Duster is in the lead – making the Republic of Macedonia the only country in the world to crown it so far in 2016.
