Finland June 2019: Kia (+22.1%), Opel (+18%) headline smallest post-WLTP market decline (-9.1%)

Kia sales are up 22.1% in a market down -9.1%.

New car sales in Finland manage to maintain their year-on-year fall to the single-digits for the first time this year, signing the lowest decline (-9.1% to 10.340) since the implementation of the new WLTP regulation slashed into sales last September. The year-to-date volume is now down -13.6% to 59.229. Toyota (+3.8%) and Skoda (+3.7%) gain ground on the podium, sandwiching Volkswagen (-7.9%) with Ford (-5.4%) in tow making the Top 4 entirely over-performing. Kia (+22.1%) and Opel (+18%) even score double-digit gains in the Top 10 whereas Nissan (-46.9%), Audi (-31.8%) and Mercedes (-11.1%) are in hell. Tesla (+643.5%), Land Rover (+121.4%), Renault (+35.7%), Mitsubishi (+33.3%) and Citroen (+28.7%) shine further down. Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (+32.5%) leaps back above the new Toyota Corolla to #1, cementing its YTD lead. The VW Golf (-4.1%) is back up 3 spots on May to #3 but is the only Top 5 nameplate to lose ground, distancing the Toyota Yaris (+12.7%) and Ford Focus (+236.8%). The Renault Clio bounces up to #15, earning a YTD Top 30 spot (#29) and the Tesla Model 3 is up to #16.
