Following a pre-WLTP-fuelled 58% surge in August, Polish new car sales crumble down 22.3% year-on-year in September to 32.640 including light commercials, yet the year-to-date tally remains comfortably positive at +13.1% to 452.021. Skoda (-9%), Toyota (-8%) and Ford (-4%) limit their fall in the single-digits to compose the September podium, leaving Renault (-22%) and Volkswagen (-47%) reeling. Dacia (+11%) is the only manufacturer to post a year-on-year gain in the Top 15 where BMW (#13), Mazda (#14) and Volvo (#15) invite themselves. Fiat (-48%) and Opel (-36%) also suffer while Nissan (-81%) smashes to the ground. Model-wise, the Skoda Fabia (-13%) manages its first monthly win since last January, distancing its stablemate the Skoda Octavia (-1%), the latter remaining #1 YTD with a 1.500 unit-advantage. The Renault Master (+26%) uncharacteristically corners the 3rd overall spot, up 14 ranks on August, with the Toyota Yaris (-17%) and Ford Focus (-16%) both up 7 spots on last month to complete the Top 5. The Dacia Duster (+9%) at #6, Toyota Auris (+10%) at #7, Dacia Sandero (+11%) at #13 and Toyota C-HR (#28%) at #15 are the only Top 15 nameplates in positive.
