New car sales in Indonesia are up 13% year-on-year in November to 100.125 registrations, lifting the year-to-date tally up 6% to 972.972 units. After three consecutive months of reign, the Toyota Calya relinquishes the Indonesian pole position to the leader in this market for the past decade: the Toyota Avanza at 12.453 units vs. 10.118. Perhaps we are not witnessing a change of guard after all. These figures being wholesale figures, they indicate that Toyota dealerships are already reducing the canopy as far as Calya orders are concerned, and the situation could worsen once wholesales stabilise closer to retail sales. The Daihatsu Xenia on the other hand more than double its sales year-on-year at +118% to land in third place overall, ahead of the Toyota Innova (+63% thanks to the new model) and Honda Brio Satya, leading its segment ahead of the Toyota Agya (-51%) and Daihatsu Ayla (-28%). The Honda BR-V reappears inside the Top 10 at #9. Note these rankings exclude LCVs.
