Kazakhstan September 2016: Toyota Camry takes YTD lead
The Toyota Camry is now #1 year-to-date in Kazakhstan.

Thanks to autoconsulting.kz, we can share with you September data for Kazakhstan, a market that continues to freefall with deliveries down to just 3.357 units, a 60% drop over September 2015 which was itself down 42% on September 2014. The year-to-date tally amounts to a meagre 32.582 units, down 58% on the same period in 2015. Toyota cements its newfound leadership of the market with a stunning 857 sales and 25.5% share, up a whopping 161% year-on-year. It now threatens Lada year-to-date at 5.902 units (+3%) vs. 6.087 (-71%) for the Russian manufacturer, also down an abysmal 71% in September to just 393 sales and 11.7% share. Hyundai (-55%), Kia (-65%), Renault (-76%) and GAZ (-78%) follow in the same order as August. Lexus defies the laws of gravity in Kazakhstan with a 11-fold year-on-year increase to 137 sales and 4.1% share in 8th place over.., Ford gains 132%, BMW is up 35% and Mercedes is up 11-fold also. New brand Ravon, replacing UZ-Daewoo, shoots up 13 spots on last month to #14 with 1.4% share thanks to the arrival of the R3 (aka Nexia) directly at #27 in the models ranking.

A models ranking witnessing a historical shift this month: thanks to a third consecutive stint in pole position with a gargantuan 10.7% market share, the Toyota Camry takes the year-to-date lead at 2.258 units (+42%) vs 2.237 (-55%) for the Lada Priora down to a paltry 35th place this month. The Lada Granta has become the brand’s best-seller in Kazakhstan in recent months, ranking #2 in September while the Vesta (1 sale) hasn’t taken off (yet?). Other great performers include the GAZ Gazelle at #3, Toyota Land Cruiser 200 at #4, Lexus RX at #16, Ford Transit at #18 and Nissan Terrano at #22.
