Nicaragua Full Year 2015: Toyota Hilux runaway leader

The Toyota Hilux is by far the best-selling new vehicle in Nicaragua

Today and for the first time ever on BSCB we can share with you official sales data for Nicaragua. 2015 was a record year with 19.000 new sales, up a whipping 25% on the 15.191 of 2014, according to the Asociación Nicaragüense de Distribuidores de Vehículos Automotores (Andiva).

The Hyundai Eon ranks third overall in Nicaragua in 2015. 

This is the largest year-on-year increase in Nicaragua since 2012 when the market grew by 41%. Sedan sales represent 43% of the market (up 30%), pickups add up to 30% (up 23%), trucks are at 11%, SUVs at 11%, microbuses at 5% and panel vans at 2%. Over the first six months of 2015 (the latest available data), the Toyota Hilux dominates the models charts head and shoulders, followed by the Toyota Yaris and Hyundai Eon.
