After the overall UK Top 10 and thanks to SMMT we can now share with you the Top 10 best-sellers for each UK nation for February. Once again England (+9%) drives the overall UK market and represents 84.2% of total UK sales this month. Wales (+9%) follows suit but Northern Ireland (+6%) and Scotland (+1%) display weaker gains. All nations are however in positive territory year-to-date with England the most dynamic at +5% followed by Wales (+3%), Scotland (+2%) and Northern Ireland (+1%). Smaller volumes mean more volatile rankings and there is indeed a lot of movement in all UK nations this month, even in England traditionally very close to the UK charts.

If the Ford Fiesta is #1 in England and Wales and the Vauxhall Corsa #1 in Scotland as per their respective 2015 rankings, the Hyundai Tucson spectacularly takes control of Northern Ireland (as it has Ireland as well), also posting its first Top 10 ranking in Scotland. The Kia Sportage justifies its first ever UK Top 10 ranking (#9 overall) by ranking within each UK nation’s Top 10 simultaneously for the first time: it is #6 in Northern Ireland and Scotland, #9 in England and #10 in Wales. In England the Nissan Qashqai holds onto the record 2nd spot it held in January for the 2nd straight month.

The Mercedes A-Class makes its very first appearance in the English Top 10 since BSCB started following UK nations monthly in 2013 at #8 while the BMW 1 Series ranks #10. None of these two nameplates make it to the overall UK Top 10 though. The Renault Kadjar lodges a stunning 5th place in Northern Ireland, earning it a #6 spot year-to-date just above its small counterpart the Renault Captur, ranking #9 there this month. The Fiat 500 resists in Scotland where it posts its only Top 10 ranking this month (#9), the Vauxhall Mokka ranks 3rd in Wales where the Ford Kuga is 4th and the Ford Ecosport delivers a brilliant 6th place.
