Sent into disarray by the civil war that is currently raging in the country, the Yemeni new car market loses 2/3 of its 2014 volume in 2015: down 65% to just 7.760 registrations. The Toyota Group continues to obliterate the market with its namesake brand holding a world-best 71.8% share (-67%), with Lexus at 2.2% (-57%) and Daihatsu at 0.2% (-72%). Hyundai remains at a very distant 2nd place with 6.4% share (-69%) but Nissan leaps five spots to #3 thanks to sales down just 11% due to a surge in Patrol volumes (+44%), bypassing Suzuki (-69%), Kia (-66%), Land Rover (-32%), BMW (-61%) and Isuzu (-58%).

Ford goes completely against the grain, jumping from just 14 deliveries a year ago to 45 this year (+221%), earning the American carmaker a spot in the Top 10 even though its volumes remain minuscule at 0.6% market share. The models ranking is logically dominated by Toyota with the Hilux best-seller with a mammoth 27.3% market share (-60%) followed by the Land Cruiser Pickup at 16.5%, the Land Cruiser at 15.9% and the Prado at 5.7%. The Nissan Patrol (#5), Kia Optima (#13) and BMW X3 (#30) are the only nameplates in the Top 30 to improve their volumes year-on-year. The Toyota F Cruiser is up to a world-best 7th place thanks to sales down just 24% to 161 units and 2.1% share.
