Nothing can stop the progression of Swedish new car sales in 2015: up another very impressive 21% year-on-year this month to 31.532 registrations, the 23rd consecutive month of year-on-year gains and the highest November score ever registered in Sweden, lifting the year-to-date total up 12.5% to 311.568 units. The exceptional strength of the market is linked to affluent households, historically low interest rates, a stable labor market, increased private leases and low stocks of used cars, which makes new cars cheaper as trade-in used cars get a high price, according to BIL Sweden. Local manufacturer Volvo has a tremendous month: it advances twice as fast as the market at +39% to 7.616 sales and 24.2% share vs. 19.9% year-to-date, leaving Volkswagen – still up 22% despite dieselgate – in the dust at 4.887 units and 15.5% share. Audi drops 10% to finish the month one lonely sale above BMW (+11%) while Toyota rounds up the Top 5 like in October. Notice also Skoda up 32%, Mercedes and Subaru both up 49%, Mazda up 56%, Mitsubishi up 72% and Renault up 73%.

The VW Golf also shines with volumes up a splendid 39% in 2nd place, as do the Toyota Auris (+64%), Skoda Fabia (+91%), Renault Captur (+84%) and Mercedes E-Class (+61%). An impressive series of six recently launched SUVs all gain ground this month in Sweden: the Hyundai Tucson, Renault Kadjar, Mazda CX-3, Suzuki Vitara, Mercedes GLC and Subaru Levorg.
